Marantz SR7300

wanted to ask the experts on what they say abt Marantz SR7300. i was planning to buy one, getting a really good deal on a second hand one...

Excellent for home theater. I had the SR5600 which is a lesser unit and I loved it. I did upgrade to Rotel since I found Rotel to be superior for music reproduction over the Marantz but I did love it. Remember that the SR7300 is rated at 110W x 6 but the 110W is achieved with only 2 channels driven. When if full surround sound mode, Marantz derates their specs to 70% of the stated watts. Trust me on that. I've spoken directly with their VP of Sales/Marketing on this. Rotel on the other does not do this. What price are you paying?

thank you for the reply. the reason for getting a second hand at the moment is to save some money till i have enough to go for a Class A amplifier, though i am not sure if my ears would tell me much different.
anyway, i was getting the SR7300 for Euros 400.00. think it is a 2 year old...
