I am trying to decide which is the better choice...
Marantz AV9000 or Marantz SR7300
Essentially I have the MM9000 amp and need a preamp/receiver.
The price for either is pretty close, SR7300 has full warranty.
50/50 music/HT and no real desire to run six speaker surround.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Well the AV9000 is the same thing as the 7300, except it's rackmountable and has a port for updates, such as new surround modes. I personally would pick this one, and try to purchase a warranty as well, only because it's so expensive. (I've got an SR-5200 and it has been working great for 1.5 years). But since you don't really care about anything more than 5.1, the SR-7300 does everything you need and won't need the updates.
