Hello everyone'I'm having trouble hooking up my Kenwood vr 509 to my hitachi TV amd my LG DVD player .I really need help with this I'm open to any suggestions

Offhand, IIRC, the vr 509 is fairly old and doesn't have too many video options.

In such case, I'd suggest you run the DVD's video (HDMI or component) directly to the TV's inputs and run it'saudio (either coax or tosklink) to a digital input on your Kenny. There is no connection between the receiver and the TV. If necessary, RTFM to see how to configure the kenny for a digital input.

Use the TV for video selection, and the receiver for audio selection. You'll get the best of both worlds that way.

This can be expanded upon a bit, but try this first.
