I'm looking for advice on a new Universal Player. My budget is around $1500 max, but will consider spending more, if what I'm looking for is not available in my price range.

What I must have:
Excellent redbook CD sound quality
Excellent picture quality (will use on large screen HDTV)
HDMI output
Bass management (as the player will be used with bookshelf/sub speakers in the near future)
Be able to play all CDs

I'm not sure what to look for. I'm considering a Denon DVD-3910, but I've heard several reports of the former Denon DVD-2900 not being able to read CDs, and that is unacceptable. I'm not sure if that issue was addressed in the new player.
