    Help
Im adding a 15x20 addition in my basement,I want to limit my audio components and speakers to 10-15k$ I want big speakers big sound but the choices are endless so are prices.I dont want to spend thousands on a cd player or dvd player. I listened to paradigm signature series( 8s,4s,2s I think) and Anthem processor and amplifiers I was very impressed but I dont know squat about hi end audio! This pairing was pricey, 20k I think?
Does anyone have any comments on paradigm and anthem I would greatly appreciate it also any other recommendations too.

    Mr Peabody
I didn't think Anthem/Paradigm would be $20k expensive. You might try the same Processor and amp with the Studio series. Anthem in my opinion is a decent product, it's better than what I'd call mid-fi brands like Adcom, Rotel or NAD but not quite as good as brands like Krell, Levinson or Bryston. I thought an Anthem processor was around $3k to $3.5k and a multi-channel amp for less. I'm not an expert on Paradigm but the Signature series may be more than what you need.

Arcam has a very good processor for $2.5k and their FMJ amp line is also very good. This could be n option to check out. In speakers bigger is not always better. Give a listen to Dynaudio. If you will have plenty of room for he speakers check out Martin Logan. They are very nice electrostatic design. They have a few pair with built in amplification for the bass modules. Those sound very good. For the best sound, you are on the right track with separate amp and processor.

    Rear Surrounds: Paradigm Studio ADP-470
    Subwoofer: Paradigm Servo-15

    Total: $7,000

    Preamp/Processor: Anthem AVM 50
    Poweramp: Anthem PVA 7

    Total: $6,000

HD Players: Toshiba HD-A2 and Sony PlayStation 3
    Universal Remote: Logitech Harmony 890
Cabling: 3 HDMI cables, 7 interconnects, speaker cabling, subwoofer cable
