HD DVR Receiver Audio Questions Time Warner Changed My Settings!
Before I go on, I recommend that any of you who have DVR's and get service through Time Warner or any other company as well as Satellite TV, check your DVR settings because those idiots at Time Warner changed some of my when they updated their interfaces and had my resolution set at 480i instead of 1080i. For the past month or so, I thought my HDTV had gotten darker but as my TV settings were the same I figured this was my imagination. I discovered the changes on my DVR settings by mistake.

One thing I'm not sure of is Audio Range which I have set as Narrow as its for consistent levels, Audio Output I have as Variable and Audio Coding I have as Dolby Digital. All TV audio goes digitally via optic cable into my Denon 3801 Receiver for 5.1 sound. If you have similar setting terms, do you agree or should I change them? Thanks for your replies.

If "Audio Range" is the same as Dynamic Range, I turn mine off. The others I don't know about.

YEAH, set that thar "audio range" to "wide" or "off", it will amaze you.
My brother was upset that his new HD set didnt look that good until I changed his box for him.
My new set has the incoming res displayed along with the input, handy, really.:1:

Go through all three of them and see which one sounds the best. Normal may be the same as Off.
