    Cool Firesale

My brother recently purchased a new set and I am happy for him.
Its a Samsung, and yes, its a plasma
And the picture is quite decent, with a lot of doodads to play with.
But the main reason for this post is what he paid.
EIGHT HUNDRED AND NINETY SEVEN DOLLARS
And that includes a half price upconverter DVD player(that has an exelent picture, btw)
Almost two years ago I paid a grand for a 37in LCD set.
If you can live with a 720p(and most can) then now is the time to buy.
Regardless of which side of the fence you fall on in the whole LCD/PLASMA debate
you must admit, this is CHEAP.
THERE are those who slander my Vizio because of the charge that its "cheap",
wonder what they will say about the mighty samsung brand and their 42" plasma
for 897.00 with a dvd player thrown in?
TV sets are getting cheap, three years ago a 32" vizio was a grand, I SAW
a 32" vizio today for 600 bucks, with a 569 buck olevia (32") sitting next to it.
ALSO I have seen Sony selling at Walfart and KMART at competitive prices.
    Whats up with that?
    LG 42", integra 6.9, B&W 602s2, CC6 center, dm305rears, b&w
    sub asw2500
    Panny DVDA player
    sharp Aquos BLU player
pronto remote, technics antique direct drive TT
    Samsung SACD/DVDA player
    emotiva upa-2 two channel amp

Supply and Demand my friend, Supply and Demand.

(and the volume of LCDs/Plasma panels being manufactured making their prices fall helps too)

This is what I'm getting..... my Butt-to-screen distance will likely be 13-16 feet or so..... so 720p is fine for me.... I'll be feeding it Blu-Ray, and not connecting a t.v. to it.

Talk about CHEAP.... gotta love it!!!!!

Looks like a nice projector, price aint bad either.
I am not a big fan of plasma but could live with its disadvantages if it cost 897 for a 42" set.
My brothers set had a lot of nice features, although the classic "soft" plasma picture,
while quite good, would be a compromise for me.
A projector like you have, to pull outta the closet wouldnt be bad either
