    Good receiver suggestion

can anyone recomend some good receivers for my home theater in the 200-300 price range. I wish it to have dolby 5.1 and be a good system to listen to CD's with.

    Thank you

    good cheap receiver

If you want a nice home theater receiver for mostly movies.
Pioneer VSX-D914K $300 on the net, good sound, great features, easy to use, autocalibration feature which is phenominal at this price.

if you want a nice home theater receiver for mostly music.
marantz sr4300 $300 accessories for less refurb, very very good sound, missing bells and whistles though
Denon avr-1803 $300 great sound, has some bells and whistles, nice comprimise.

would this receiver work well with 5 speaker plus a sub, or would I have to have 6 speakers plus a sub.

also, does the pioneer offer video switching?

    Yes and Yes

you can use 5 or 6 speakers and of course a sub.

yes it does have video switching, if you can go to your local store and look at it.

if you can not find the 914...compare it to the 814 wich is only missing the auto cal system.
