    Question DVD-Recorder w/ SACD/DVD-Audio for < $1K???

Does anybody know of a DVD Recorder that has 5.1 SACD and/or DVD-Audio playback capability for less than $1,000? The only one I've been able to find is the Denon DVD-5900, but it's 2 G's.

How about 2 separate units? You should be able to get a decent Pioneer or Yamaha recorder and get the DVD-2200 together for about $1000.00...almost every time, getting separate units is a better idea than trying to jam everything into a single chassis.

    Isn't Denon's DVD-5900 just a player, NOT a recorder?

I've been checking out DVD recorders myself and am leaning to the Panasonic DMR-E95HS which has the capability of playing DVD-As. I'm waiting for a dip in the price, and am watching Vann's which currently offers it at $649 with free shipping. I imagine these units will be selling for about $400 in another year.

Edit: scrap the Panasonic. While it can play DVD-As, it's limited to stereo output only. Too bad. I don't care too much about that feature anyway, as I already have a DVD-A player.

Yeah I'd go two seperate units.

    Marantz DV-6400 for DVD/DVD-A/SACD/MP3/WMA/CD at $550.
Panasonic or Lite-On recorder for $300.

Much better units than you'd get with a combo player, and cheaper to boot.

Lite on DVD recorder (LV-W5001) for $179

I got my Lite on progressive scan DVD recorder (LV-W5001) for $169 after rebates from Circuit City online (it only took 2 days delivery & they don't carry it at their retail stores) & it works great and is super easy to use. The price has gone up $10 at circuit city online to $179. Here is the linkhttp://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Lite-...oductDetail.do
