Denon DRA1025RA question related to tape monitors

I have a Denon DRA1025RA receiver it's stuck on the tape monitors 1 and 2. I can play a cassette deck thru the monitors but when I try to play just the tuner off this receiver it wont release the tape monitors to do so. Any ideas??? Thanks
