denon 1910 dvd died

my dvd died, I put in a disk and the power turns off in 2-3 seconds. I unplugged it but did not 'reset" the player. I will email the store I got it from see if they can help

any advice??? I purchased it in 2/2005 and it only had a one year warranty although I cannot find that in the manual

my sony 5 disk CD player is from 1987 20 YEARS OLD and still works fine but I guess that does not help me play dvd's
