cant get infocus x1a to recognize component

I finally got my first projoctor.

its an infocus x1a. however, i can't get the projector to recognize the component in signal wich is connected to the VGA with the help of a component-> vga connector. i know everything works, but i cant get the projector to display the image for some reason.

    any suggestions?

    i use a harman kardon dvd22

You need not just a cable with a VGA connector on one end and component leads on the other but a component to VGA transcoder. Key Digital and Audio Authority make good ones, for about $300. Ram Electronics, Copperbox, and Pacific Cable are three places where you might find one, as well as lots of other sites

turns out i just mixed the green cable with the blue. all you need is a $6 converter cable if going from component to vga.
