5 speakers will work fine with DPLIIx, but why not just use Dolby Digital or Dts? There is nothing like the real thing, right??

two channel sources? I have a bunch ov VHS tapes lying around and it spices it up for me.

Yes, I know they were recorded in a matrixed multi channel format but, ultimately, they are recorded on the media as a two channel analog track and played back as a two channel source. The additional channels are extracted in the receiver..

...not to mention other two channel sources but, in my opinion, those sound better in their native two channel format. Opinions differ on this.

I advise everyone to try PLIIx with 5.1 sources...intersting...it seems pretty darn discrete according to my tests, but somehow seems a bit...different than using than Dolby Digital Even without the 6th and 7th speakers engaged.
I use it to convert 5.1 to faux 7.1 sometimes. I like it a lot.

Thanks. So should my rear speakers be connected to surround or surround back?
