    Best 70" TV

My Mits 65" TV is pushing 5 years old. Kinda thinking it's time to upgrade.
Can't go any smaller, gotta go bigger!

What's the best 70" tv available?
Sony has a new SXBR Lcos set that looks
    pretty good.

    Any Ideas?

Wow, that's ancient! You better ship that crusty old thing off to the old fold's tv home before it gets arthritic or senile.

    It's called a projector dude!!!

Go out and score a Infocus Screeplay 4805 and a 106" screen for a grand total of 2000 bucks. OK maybe that is not the perfect projector for you but you really have to look at what the new PJs can offer you. The Sanyo Z3 is also a good projector.

I am in the exact same situation that you are in. I have a 65" mitsu and am looking to upgrade. I love it and the pictures is awesome in HD but I need to go bigger. It's an addiction !!! HELP ME!!!.

Mitsu did make a 85" I think. It cost like 15 grand or something like that.

Good luck - projectors are the way to go if you want bigger than your 65"

Careful about the projector - they are subject to ambient light problems. I would only suggest that if you have a dedicated HT room (Lucky you if you do!). Sony's new 70" is actually something new (SXRD). Don't know all the specifics but the price tag is going to be around 10 grand. See if you can find a KDF70XBR950 - places are closing them out because of the new Sony on the way...

Your are right about that one. I am lucky in that sense. Actually it's the only sense I have.

I was a store the other day and this guy was pitching a $10K Runco with track lighting on. The picture was not good at all. A dark room is imparative

If you're going 70" buy the Hitachi 70VS810. This thing is a monster - and the picture quality is stunning for the size of the screen! Retail is $10,000 CAN. When we set it up at work, all of us salesmen were blown away. We put it beside the Hitachi 60V500 - which used to look big until this thing came into the store. Not only is the picture quality good, the cosmetics of the set itself is beautiful. If you can, build it into the wall - looks slick. Hitachi did it at a trade show last year. I have yet to see Sony's 70" but it should be good lookin' as well. But I'd still buy the Hitachi myself.

    1080p

One more thing, at this point don't you think any new big tv should
    be 1080p? Isn't HD-DVD/Blu-Ray going to be 1080p?
