Anyone with a lcd projection or plasma...etc

If you have a cable box or sat receiver with an AC outlet, do not plug your tv into it unless that AC outlet is set to stay powered at all times. With lcd projection in particular rapid cooling of the bulb can cause damage or even failure. I have heard plasmas may also be damaged by the sudden loss of power. Most tv's these days are designed to be in standby when not in use, anyway just an FYI.

    Wink

Thanks for that heads up. Just bought a new Samsung 46" DLP Rear projection HDTV and use a digital cable box. Haven't hooked up the new TV yet; waiting for cable guy to bring our new HDTV Digital Box w/ DVR. With my old CRT set, did have the TV plugged into the cable box. Might not have thought this through without your post. Thanks again.
