    Time Warner 8000HD Connections...

Does the Time Warner 8000 HD DVR box have DVI and/or HDMI connections? Is there a difference between DVI and HDMI? I am looking for a connection to go straight from the cable box to my tv to allow me to view/listen to the tv without having to turn on my AVR.

Found a picture of the back...1394 and DVI??

and it looks like there are two 1394 connections and one DVI connection....is 1394 HDMI and what is DVI. Do the 1394 connections (if they are HDMI) allow to run this single cable to my tv and get HD picture and sound??

Ditch the 8000 for the 8300

Ditch this crappy model now for the 8300 & don't take no from Time Warner. You get 5.1 sound & can externally copy ptograms you recorded on your 8300 DVR and the 8000 won't let you do that because Time Warner never programmed them to do so.
