    Alesis M1-active Bi-amp Reference Speakers?

    Does Anyone know anything about these? I hve a chance to get a pair for cheap to make my setup 7.1...

    They'd certainly work. But reference speakers are meant for close listening just a few feet away. They're also meant to be as flat sounding as possible rather than musically flattering if there is such a thing.

    They would make better computer monitors in my opinion. I have yamaha active biamp speakers for my home recording studio stuff and I am amazed by how much sound they pump out.
