What audio equipment do you own?

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but there's a reason I'm asking.... you now have a field in your profile where you can enter this information (called "equipment list") and never have to type it out again. Imagine being able to just point people to your profile to tell them what you own. Fill in your profile and reply to this thread so we can check it out!

Come on guys, let's see what you got!

    you think...

do you think you could lengthen the area for the equipment list in the profile? I posted my whole system up and only about half of it showed up caz its too long.

Not bad for a 21-year old electrical engineer....

I have the IL 36C for my center and I am very pleased with the sound I get. I tried two or three others but they don't come close to this one. I think you will be happy with your choice of speakers. Grandpaw

I don't know if you know about it but you can get different color grills for you center channel. They are listed on the Infinity web site.

Why don't ask me to list connectors?

You know the answer already, Mike, or at least part of it. The main reasoin is that in my considered opinion different connectors will make no audible difference, or if you wish to follow strict formal logic, are unlikely to make an audible difference.

There is a second reason, too: frankly, I don't know what brand some of them are, I've had them so long.

    Question Dark pictures

In comparing the pictures posted so far, I find harleyx's and gonefishin's to be extremely dark and E-stat's on the dark side. My pictures probably look really washed out in comparison.

I think this probably is most likely due to how we each have our monitors set. I have the Photoshop software which I used to calibrate the settings on my home monitor, although it is not an exact science. The end result is that the colors are quite vivid. The same pictures on my monitor at work don't seem to have as much impact.

I cranked the brightness of my pictures I posted up a bit to better see the equipment, so they aren't totally "accurate", but it looks to me by the pictures others have posted that they may have the brightness cranked up too high on their monitors. Am I in the minority here?

I've brightened up one of the posted pictures so I can see the equipment better. I attached the result to this post. So my questions are...do most people think the other pictures are just fine?...are the other pictures dark just because the posters have no means to correct them?...how many other people "calibrate" their monitors.

P.S. The "adjusted" picture of Gonefishin's system I attached looks really washed out to me, but it allows me to see the equipment rather than providing an accurate color rendition of the room.

The power supply blew on a Quad ESL-63, which is an expensive repair. Since our present house is not really suitable for them, I looked for some forward radiating speakers. After some extensive auditioning, I have replaced them with PSB Stratus Minis, which I have to admit, are more accurate than the Quads.

    Hey everyone,

New member here, first post and all. Thought I would add my primary system to the list.

Antique Sound Lab AQ1001 DT Integrated Tube Amp (Triode configuration)
    Jolida JD 100A Tube CDP
    Jean-Marie Reynaud Twin MKIII Loudspeakers
DYI 12" Forward Firing Sealed Powered Sub
    Atlantis SB stands
Final Labs Speed-0203 speaker cables and Speed-0202 interconnects

As you can see, I'm primarily a tube guy that loves folk, roots, blues and alt. country music.

    power amp: Quad 405
    pre-amp: Nakamichi 410
    tuner: Yamaha T-1
    cd player: NAD
table: Thorens mk166 mk2 - Sumiko Blue Point (cartridge)
    speakers: ADS 1230s
tape deck: Denon (broken and I can't get parts for repair)

The Quad, Nak and Yamaha date from 1978, the table from 1985, the NAD and Denon from 1987 and the speakers from 1983. Just got the Blue Point on e-bay. So it's a vintage system that sounds and performs the way it did at purchase, save for the Denon - but then tape decks seem inherently prone to breakage (my Onkyo had a relatively short life as well). If there's better sounding speakers than the ADSs in that price range ($1500 new, though I got them at discount), I haven't heard them.
