What’s your experience with betting exchanges?

Has anyone here used betting exchanges like Betfair? I’ve only dealt with traditional sportsbooks, but I keep hearing that exchanges offer better odds and flexibility. What are the pros and cons in your experience? Is it worth making the switch?
