    AVR receivers

Looking to create a home theater system with Paradigm Studio 40 and 20 speakers. Not sure which AVR receiver to buy and will spend about $1000 that produces excellent CD music and Home Theater sound. So many AVR to compare including Denon 2807, Onkyo SR674, Yamaha RX-V1700, … Looking for the best sound quality. Had a Denon AVR, not happy with it.

Have you thought about Pioneer Elite? Are you looking for something that does multichannel? Marantz might be another possibility, but can get above your budget quickly.

Which Denon did you have, and with what were you not happy?

Thank you for responding. I have a Denon AVR 2802 that has been sitting on a shelf for about 4 years with less than 2 hours of use and I intend to sell it. The Denon AVR 2802 is difficult to set up and just does not seem to be ENJOYABLE and SOUND as well as my Yamaha RX-V592.
I am just trying to "ENJOY" the best for the buck ($1000) I want to spend. I hope this answers your question.

Yamaha RX V2500, Denon AVR 3806, Yamaha HTR 6090, Onkyo SR-804 to name a few.
The Denon 3806 has great reviews and sounds great. I almost bought it over my Adcom which sells for $2000. The 3806 is in a whole different league from the 2000series. It uses the power supplies found in the 4000 series. I almost bought it over my Adcom.
