I have always had a bit of a reputation and now I have reputation points. On another site in which I am a member I have over 20,000 reputation points. If someone new posts something I like and I give them positive points it really jumps them up. When I give negative it drops there count quickly. As my points have grown I take giving and taking away seriously. Points are a nice way to know you are contributing positively.

To add to rep points click on the scale of the post you like and then you can approve or disaprove of the post. To check yours click on User CP and you can see yours.
