Talking Proton 300 receiver + 301 Powered speaker Wow

    Hi everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself and am anxiuos to view all the great communication about the Audio world.

Cleaning out the closet, I came across my old Proton 300 plus the Proton 301 speaker. It's in wonderful shape but i just don't have a use for it. I'm thinking of putting it on eBay but am wondering if it's worth much(what would someone pay)?

Everyone knows that his system was the standard for audio performance components back in the 80's.

If you have any thoughts on these please let me know.

Thanks for your time and hope to converse with as many of you as I can.

Yes the Proton 300 was arguably the best table radio ever made. I just love mine, and am presently using it in powered speaker mode, along with the 301 speak, both controlled by my Music Reference preamp. They show up on eBay fairly often, alone or together, and go for quite a bit. I'm sure you'd get bids.

Thanks for the info. I'll let you know if they sell...perhaps you could get another set for other part of the house?

Well, I'd really like to get $250 for both + shipping. I can't remember what they cost back in the 80's.

    If you want that much...

...you should list them on Audiogon. I'll pass, took too big a hit on taxes.
