    New Audio Rack

Here's a picture of the Audio Rack I'm ordering. Its the one on the left in the first picture. I'm going to get it in black with the frosted glass as shown.

I have no place to put the new Parasound, its sitting on the floor right now. It will go on the top shelf and the Adcom on the bottom.

    That's very cool.

Some folks claim that glass shelves are bad for your system. I've never known that to be the case, though I suppose it can be proven that any rack is bad for your system if you're looking for faults. I've had audio racks made out of solid red oak, veneered white oak over MDF, Baltic birch, Walnut hi-density plywood, foam-filled steel, and my current die-cast Aluminum and glass.

When I have all five SVAs running hot, driven by the 600W/ch Hafler Trans•ana amps, I can feel a little vibe from the glass, but all my wood/fibre-based units buzzed or hummed at those levels. The foam-filled steel was pretty inert, but it would not dissipate heat; it was like an insulted oven.

Concrete racks might be the answer, if they're water cooled. But all in all my Al and glass units are the best so far.
    I like sulung tang.
