Are these used players because the NAD players are now the C542 and C521BEE.

I own the C521BEE and it's quite the player for it's asking price of 299. I have also owned the 541i which precedes the the 542 and the difference between the 2 is not huge. A slightly better bass and midrange on the 541i but nothing huge and not worth the 200 difference IMO. Others seem to think the differences are bigger and worth the extra 200.

Hope this helps. In the end just go with what your ear and gut tell you. Not what others say.

Thanks a lot, the C540 has apparently got some faults with reading discs, so i heard and i'm beginning to think that i'll stick to the C521.. Have you had any experience with the C521 that i'm trying to get? Is it the same as your C521BEE?

There all pretty much the same. With subtle tweaks to each revision.

Are these used players your looking at ?

The 540 may have had some issues with playing CDR's but the 541 corrected this.

Hey Thanks, Yes they are very well used players in pristine condition, the NAD C521 can play CDR as well as CD, but the C540 only reads the original CD'S but what would you select of the two??

Considering where technology is these days and that the differences between players is minimal. I would stick with the C521.

You need to spend 700 to a 1000 dollars to get something thats far superior. The 521 players in there various versions have been one of only a few budget players that can compete with the upper market stuff and give you good taste of the high end players.

Considering the age of the player 200 is a rip off. Stick with your 521. It's that good.

My budget is around USD200 MAX, i know i can only afford second hand gear. But there is a DENON DCD 485 brand new at the shop for that price. I live in Singapore, but dont have many second hand options.
