High Pich sound comming from Receiver and Spaeakers, what is this?

Whenever I watch tv and movies, it seems that I can hear a high pitch sound coming from the speakers. What is this? The receiver is a NAD Receiver T760, the amp is a Kenwood M2 Basic. Is there a high pitched filter I can put on the line. I hear the sound when watching movies on DVD player and TV signal.

    Any ideas?? Thank you.

P.S. When I turn the amp up it gets louder. Almost like a headache.

is it also there when you play a cd or something with a source that isn't your dvd player or tv?

if so, check the 'problem sources' seperately, turn on your tv, not your dvd player and turn on the receiver, is the high pitch sound there then? then turn off the tv again and turn on the dvd player, is the high pitch sound there? I've been thinking about electronic 'noise' generated by your tv, and then picked up by your audio interconnects...

    Its more like this,

I tried turning off my TV and I can hear a slight buzz, very faint just coming from my speakers. But when I turn on the TV I can hear that high pitched sound again. I think its my TV. I guess I am doomed to hear some noise on the line. I just wanted a nice tight sound that doesn't have all that extra buzz to it. Maybe it my cheap o RCA cables from Radio Shack. Would replacing those help any? Any way to block interference from TV?

I take it that you get the audio from the audio output TV as source which seems to have noisy electronics. We use a hi-fi VCR to receive the TV signal first and then it is passed to the TV. But we feed the audio line output of the VCR to the receiver. Our VCR has much quieter electronics. I gather with some AV receivers this can be done with the receiver, but I am not familiar with yours.

nosy electronics is a good way to put my TV, I will look into a better middle man like a vcr or dvd player. Just wish there was a filter for this or a box that cleans up the signal. Like magic scrubbing bubbles or something.

Thanks for the audio cable recommendations. I am going to upgrade my cabling all the way around. + Maybe get better VCR or DVD player to pass audio through.
