Marantz CD 5005 vs. Marantz CD 6005

Time to buy a new CD player. Have done some research and it appears as though the Marantz has the audio properties that I want for the amount of money I would like to spend.

Has anyone compared these two head to head? I am wondering if there is any kind of sonic difference between the two. I noted the 5004 is not as adept at playing analog recordings as the 5005 or 6005 and I've ruled out that model.

They look about the same. The 6005 has a usb input and possibly a higher current power supply. They use the same DAC. I have not hear either one but I have heard some of the 8000 series and use to own an 8001 SACD player.

I suspect that the 5005 and 6005 will sound similar. If you play computer music the 6005 may be the ticket.

I just read the new Yamaha line is actually pretty good. And not bright sounding like they were at one time. I might look into that one as well since it is a bit cheaper. Have to see what kind of warranty it has. Marantz is 3 years which is excellent.
