If you're going the DIY route...
...here's a simple, cost effective solution. It consists of 4 pieces of 1x6 in a rectangular shape, and hardwood dowels spanning the distance between the sides. You can make it as tall and as wide as you need. Keep in mind, the wider you make it, the thicker the dowels need to be. I used 1/2" and now wish that I had gone for 5/8ths. The spacing of the three dowels (higher in front, lower in back) gives me the option of standing the jewel cases straight up or leaning them back. I have the cd cases on top standing straight, and the dvd cases on the bottom leaning back (easier to read them from above). The whole thing can be attached to the wall with L brackets.
Hope this helps!
P.S. I tried to download pictures but was informed that they exceeded the maximum file size limit. Both the wife and myself sat here for about an hour fiddling with it, but to no avail.
