Mission 774 with NAD?

Hi,
I am thinking to upgrade my current JBL floordtanders (Stage series) with something better. My room is 15x12 and using NAD 355BEE amp with NAD 515BEE cd player.
Someone is offering a pair of Mission 774 floordtanders at 500 Canadian. My question is whether these Mission will be a good match with my NADs. And is the price is right? These Missions are missing carpet spike bases and about 8/10 years old!
I will highly appreciate any thought and suggestion. Thanks

Good budget choices going with the NAD gear. I have heard various Mission speakers models about 5 years ago and I was not the least bit impressed with them. The Mission speakers had some kind of very audible cycling up and down when no music was playing on them and also while music was playing on them too. It was a constant changing tone from tweeter to woofer and then back to the tweeter, and so on. Very weird.

Must you have floor standers or would large bookshelf speakers be an option?
