    Hi, New to forum

Hi, I just wanted to say hello. I'm new to the forum. I wouldn't call myself and audiophile but I'm getting there. I'm mainly interested in 2ch music listening and occasional home theater. My equimpment is as follows:

    Magnepan Q1.6 speakers
B&W LCR-3 Center channel soon to be upgraded to a Magnepan
Old Velodyne CHT-8 sub soon to be upgraded to a REL to match the Maggies
Monster cable Z4's and M1000i cables
    Denon DVD/CD player
Also have a high current JVC HT receiver to go with MMG speakers.

I'd like to say that this forum is very informative and helpful.

    Wink New to forum

I'm new too - and I am a two channel, classical music lover....also you listed Magnepan 1.6 QR speakers which I had until about a year ago. I liked the 1.6s very much, but my room (12 x 15) was really too small for them. I now have the Orsa speakers from Jas-Audio...it has a true ribbon tweeter - a remnant of the 1.6's that I sold. The Orsas do fit my room size much better. I had tried to use a subwoofer with the Maggies, but never could seem to get it adjusted correctly...I don't know if that is because I was putting a cone speaker with a quasi ribbon - or if I was just clumsy and lacked know how. I now have an SVS SB 12 plus subwoofer with the Orsas, am am very pleased with them. Good luck and good listening.... and since others welcomed me, I welcome you! But I'm still a rookie.
