Heads up for Harmony One owners

In case you own a Logitech Harmony One, I wanted to make sure you were aware of the problem some are having with swollen batteries. Thats right, so swollen you cannot remove it to put in a new one.

It sounds like it was the batteries from the Logitech forums

I learned about it and lots of other info here

By the looks of it, it appears to be the white battery with blue label and it happens to 880s and 890s. Here is a pic of one that exploded and blew the cover off.

Guy at Battery+ told me that LiPos have about 500 (re)charges in them, then they start to fail...... swelling is a positive(ly) bad sign. He suggested that I do not recharge my cellphone lipo battery until it is about dead.

If you get a free replacement, good for you. My cell battery lasted 3+ years & a new one was $40.

    Cool

The lithium ion battery in my pronto has lasted seven years. Sometimes you get lucky.
And sometimes they EXPLODE. Need to be checked on a regular basis.
IMAGINE ONE in an electric car going off, might take a few city blocks with it.
