Ears working OK? How do you know?

I have my hearing tested yearly at the chemical plant I worked for. I like most older males have had a steady decrease in high freqentcy hearing. Thirty years in chemical plants and use of power tools as another hobby , lawnmowers etc. (all with ear plugs) plus the natural aging effect have taken it toll. I am sure some of you younger ones that listen to loud music, hunt, use power tools etc. have hearing loss also.

Before I spent big bucks on an audio system, I would get an industrial style (in a hearing booth) hearing test to be sure my hearing is good enough to know that extra money can be heard and enjoyed.

The nice thing about modern hearing aids is that you can have your hearing equalized. Probably as good or better than it ever was.
