Now that's thinking outside the envelope. Need more money for upkeep and maintenance? Ye ask and ye shall receive..although that may not be the most appropriate phrasing for the situation.
It sounds like you're going to have one serious Swordfish-style hot rod computer setup in the same room with a world class sound system. Not a bad gig. Nice work.
Good to have you lurking about again lately.
Cheers

any other nice toys like a nice case or so? personally i use a nzxt lexa, and i can't complain, they also make very nice solid aluminium cases...
it will be a cute machine though, super pc and super system, good match...

LianLi PC70 chassi-- no amd currently beats the core 2 duo

for coding? And two 8800GTX cards? Why on earth?
I guess the quad core makes sense if you're going to write code that can take advantage of that.

well the video cards make sense, but most of what I've read said the quad cores don't gain much... which I'm hoping is wrong and they come down in price in 6 or so months when I want to build a new computer :)

i'd buy that one, only the price tag makes me not buying it :cornut:
ooh, yeah, flo, which monitors (not monitor speakers, monitor = ment as screen here) are you going to buy?

The computer cpu will be cooled with a phase change cooler and the graphics cards and chipsets with water. No need for any passive thingys ;-)
I play a ton of Doom3, Quake II and III, Rise of Nations, Diablo 2, World of Warcraft and others. :-) I will 3 more Benq 202w screens to make 4 in total.

do you also play gta? or wolfenstein enemy territory?
question: are you going to use your grands for the pc audio, or are you going to use a pc speaker system?
Greetings,
Bert.

Hmmm...porn and SoundLAB...a match made in heaven!:ihih:

Hehe, na the Grand is my primary system. It will only play 2 channel and nothing else. I play RTCW and GTA. I was in PC Magazine 2 years ago with my phase changed cooled PC. Man the good ole times ;-)

this might sound stupid, but what exactly is a "phase changed cooled pc"??
then, what are you going to use for the pc as soundsystem?
I use a cambridge soundworks megaworks thx 550, and I'm happy, for games and movies on the pc that is, no music is being played on them, only my Advents get that privilege...

I use Danfoss compressors with R404 gas to cool my cpu. Its basically freezing your CPU below the freezing point. I use normal headphones on the computer. I dont listen to music on a computer.
