    DynaVox and Dynaudio
Do you think DynaVox is a "copy" of Dynaudio stuff? I noticed their drivers look similar, but are not the same. What is the deal with these French drivers?

    Anyone know?

I got this "Factory Tour" of Dynaudio DVD with my last Stereophile....or was it the free issue of Absolute Sound....whichever.

I'm even more impressed by that company. I will definately give the Audience 42 and 52 a hear, even if I can't afford such a product at this time.

Anyone know what is the deal with DynaVox?

Looks like they are knockoffs, maybe even improvements as Dynaudio seems to have been stagnant for a while:

There are other Dynaudio copies out there...Morel's soft-dome tweeters and midrange drivers comes to mind:

Looking at morel's site, I wouldn't say their midbasses or woofers look alike at all, as far as midrange domes and tweeters, I'm not sure.

Uh, the hell you say? The dome tweeters are exact knock-offs. The size, the materials, the technology. Look at the way the voice coils are attached to the dome on either side.

Morel has been building drivers for over 30 years. They are hardly a company that gets by thru copying others. They innovate as much as any other large scale manufacturer and as such, if they see a design that can be copied and improved upon, they will do such. How do you think Toyota got to be as big as they are?
