Hi all,

Long time without posting.! Well, this is a topic that has been brought to the audio forums many times but I would like to hear what you think.

Checking Ebay, I have realized that old cd players are still expensive ( don't get me wrong, not as cheap as many newer and older dvd players) So, I have been looking to some DVD players to be used as a dedicated cd player. I have a friend who is using a Pioneer Elite DV-05 dvd player as a cd player with excellent results. The sound of this dvd player is great. By the way, it is a THX certified equipment.

I am inspired to get one dvd player from Marantz, Pioneer Elite, Sony ES, Arcam, NAD, etc to be used as a cd player.
What you guys can say about this idea ??

Do you think a good dvd player can match the sound of a dedicated cd player ?? Let say we are looking to equipment that costs less than $1000. Yes, I don't want to compare a Meridian or Mark Levinson cd player with $1000 Pioneer Elite or Marantz.

Thanks for any opinion.!
