Dual disc?

Is this new Dual-disc ging to render all the other formats obsolete? From what I hear the dualdiscs will not be able to be played on normal players. I am considering buying a Linn Unidisk SC but am sceptical if the machine will be useless in a year or two!

If they think I' m going to pay for what sounds like an inferior product, assuming I will know I'm buying a dual disk. They got another thing coming!
I don't understand this with streaming taking over, for the masses. You'd think these companies might try to enhance the hard copy market like sacd for those of use who really care how it will sound, instead of trying to trick us with some crap product bundled to look like value.
