    Decent bedroom system,under $300
Advising my sister in law on a bedroom system. I find the Onkyo cs 325 looks pretty good for about $225. I can get the cd player and reciever for about $150,and then have a pick of speakers, although their advertising say there speaker are specially geared for their receiver. I was considering used Paradigm Atoms off ebay. She would also like an ipod dock,if possible. Onkyo's ipod dock is about $85. She also wants to run some speakers into the bathroom(wall speakers I guess). I know nothing of wall speakers. Any advice is appreciated.:aureola:

    I would buy this 2ch receiver http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...199&CatId=4586

or one of these two http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?Lprice=100&Hprice=199.99&Nav=|c:4 586|&Sort=0&Recs=10

and a pair of these speakers http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=ENC100

    or these speakers http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=ENC200

    And this CD/DVD player http://www.amazon.com/Denon-DVD-1940...1081880&sr=8-1

This would make a great budget system for around $300. Better than what you are looking at. The Denon CD/DVD player would be the best of the lot. You won't find a better CD player than this for this price.

Dont shy away from sherwood. They make some high end gear. And for your budget they are a perfect fit. I'd rather put more money to the speakers and CD player.

    Sherwood receiver $80
    Denon 1940 CD/DVD $87
    Energy C200 speaks $150 or C100 for $99

    = $267-$319

    Hope this helps!

Thanks blackraven, for your in depth answer. I should have mentioned that the main characteristic in the bedroom system would be size(small unobtrusive). Even so the idea of using Energy speakers is a possibility. I am even considering the Energy -50's.

I would skip the 50's and go with the C-100s at minimum. The 50's would be good for a HT set up as rear channels.
