keeping audio files the same size when converting

Hi there, I have a mac. I'm doing a powerpoint presentation that has to be under 2MB (with music) to be emailed. I would like to embed the music in the project in order to just email one file. I have managed to compress my music to 952K, and it's a reasonable sound but it's an MP3. I'm told that powerpoint will only embed a .wav file in a presentation. I've tried 4 different software applications for compression, but the .wav file keeps coming out massive (no matter what the settings) and also sounding awful! Can anyone help?

The Redbook .WAV standard works out to be about 10 MB / minute. You must limit your music clip to about 12 seconds to fit the 2 MB requirement.
