I have to say that this is probably the weirdest thing I have heard in a while. The physics make sense: vibrate the flowers at different frequencies which creates sound waves. But it is hard for me to believe that someone can vibrate the flowers enough to get sound filling out of them. Or I guess it would take a lot of plants. In the article it started the fourth paragraph by "Near your ear and hear the music..." This being said, I figure these plants are not producing a lot of sound. Also, I doubt plants can handle the frequencies needed to produce the full dynamic range at louder levels. Maybe they will find that different plants work better at different frequencies... haha, then you will have tulips for tweeters and poinsettias for your sub.

Anyway, very interesting, but doubt will ever get into home theatre. If it ever gets good enough, it will be really expensive.

Yeah, I much prefer the soft,fibrous sound a tulip produces to the harsh, fatiguing highs of a daffodil.

That reminds me of an article in Wireless World, back in the 70's about someone who used a tree as an arial for transmitting and receiving slow scan TV on short wave. lol
