budget amp and sub for dynaudio 42?

    Hello world!

Somehow I've got a pair of dynaudio 42's, and a very old yamaha ax 450. The amp is going to die and has no sub out. I like 42's but need more bass to listen to Bill Laswell, Madlib& Dilla, Lull, Rhythm&Sound and so on. The room is square and rather small (20 m2). Lossless sound comes from M-audio Audiophile or slightly more expensive semi-pro cards.

got ~$800-900 which I guess here in Russia is equal to $600-700 in USA
Need a sub and an integrated amp. Don't care about remote control.

    that's it

If you're in Russia you should have lots of access to good tube amplifiers. For the Dane 42 you'd want to look at ones with a 4 ohm tap and about 25+ watts.

Something "like" the Antique Sound Labs AQ1003DT used http://www.divertech.com/asl1003dt.html the tube market in Russia is big.

Or for non tube amps I would look for Sugden amplifiers again used.

No need to buy new because amps last a long time and are safe buys on the used market.

thanks but I'm not so pro to buy a used tube amp myself... Difficult to listen before buying, too fragile, lots of cheaters... Maybe 2-3 years later. CA 640A looks ok for a starter system, but what about a sub? Just need it for dubby music. Wharfedale sw150? It has speaker level inputs and the price is ok

You could also take a look at the NAD amps, like the C326BEE, or higher or lower NAD models depending on your needs and budget. I think the Wharfedale seems like a fine choice for music. It's not likely a big home-theater performer, but would probably blend in with a music system reasonably well.

I think with a better amp you will also be surprised at the bass response of the 42 but it does have it's limits as to how low it will go. Any used Arcam integrated amps over there, nice match with Dynaudio. Trick to Dyn's are they like current. Other British amps may work well too like Creek or Roksan.
