    Boston Acoustic's replaceable voicecoil
Boston Acoustic's has made a car audio subwoofer that features a replaceable voicecoil. Considering how often subs are fried in car installs, this is actually a pretty good idea. In their estimation when a driver is cooked, the frame, magnet, rolls, and cone are usually OK. Only the coils are melted. Therefore, their rather ingenious solution was to have replaceable voice coils that drop right in! Pretty smart.

    Too bad it's $700.
