    What is your price range?

What immediately comes to mind is NAD.

Rotel, Parsound Halo, NAD, or ASL come to mind. I'd also strongly consider PS Audio's new Trio. Word is Paul designed the Trio to sound a lot more like the previous HCA2 than the current GCA. If this is true, expect deep black backgrounds, startling transients, huge slam, and a very sweet top end. If you don't like it, send it back in 30 days for a refund. Simple.

Matching? Is there really such as thing as a matching pre-amp? I wouldn't worry about whether or not the pre is from the same company. That's the joy of separates; you can pick and choose who makes the best for each link in the chain. Your goal is synergy, and with the exception of Naim, you can mix and match pretty much however you choose. This might be an excellent opportunity to insert some tube magic into your chain (if you like that sound). Look for a nice used ARC or BAT pre-amp on audiogon.
