Advice needed for LP maintenance

I am looking for some advice. I am living in Tokyo and my appartment gets incredibly hot in the summer so I am afraid that my LPs will get damaged. A Japanese friend told me her LPs got damaged because of the heat and humidity. What is the best and most cost effective way of protecting them?

As long as you keep them out of direct sunlight, they should be fine. The biggest enemy of vinyl is direct sun because that will create warps. A warm apartment won't do too much harm, but obviously you'd ideally like to keep the temperature as stable as possible.

You also want to store them vertically on their edge. Keep them straight up, not leaning. LP's laying flat tend to cause warping.
