Do you guys think that I need to attend Audio Anonymous?

Okay just so you know, I am sh#t broke, but I love music so much. My weekly food budget is $40 after rent and other bills, but I always make sure my dog is fed well. This is a choice I make, since I spend at least $200/month on vinyl/equipments. I could just burn CDs from my friends, but I swear burnt copies do not have the same depth of CDs you buy. I made 4 copies of my favorite CD, and had my friend to test my "Outragous" belief on my 5 disc changer. I can pick-out the original CD everytime with a blind fold. The point of all this is that, I don't like burnt CDs and I'm sick of eating really cheap food.
I spend about $150 a month on Cigarettes, but I will never sell my music and gears for a pack of cigarette. Never will, never has.

Is there a solution to my addiction, and do guys have a similar problem?

I think as far as addictions go, it's not so bad, there are far worse addictions. Like I see the same people at our casino everday. Most people I know are stuck in their own little world or rut. So we like audio and we spend the majority of our time with it, no big deal. There is far worse that we could be addicted to. Is there a solution? Only if we go deaf my friend from playing the tunes too loud.
As for cd-r's, I find just the opposite. If I burn the original to a good quality cd at a fairly slow speed. It's sounds better to my ears. Maybe it's the soundcard (audigy platinum II ), dunno.

Sounds normal to me but for me it's wine not cigarettes. I burn my cd's on a stand alone cd recorder as part of my audio system and they sound fine to me. I never burn them at the faster speed. As far as your food budget you can get a lot of meals free if you learn to complain correctly at restaurants. Maybe I should teach a class.

As Far as CD-Rs go, maybe I should stop buying cheap discs (Maxell $10 for 50). Has anybody tried Gold CD-Rs? I don't see how the soud quality will exceed the original copy, but it may come close. I burn all of my copies at 8X speed, but I use the burner on my cheap desktop.

I use TDK Certified Plus 80min 700MB CD-R music disks. I haven't compared them to Maxell, but back in the days of cassette I chose TDK over Maxell. The TDKs play in all my players including the car unlike some of the cheaper ones you get in bulk.

Exactly, it's either I start doing drugs again or spend $20 a day on Coffee. I would rather listen to my records and play my CDs.
Guess I better study for my Finance test if I wanna give myself a chance of eating better food.
