    What a sad list...

    http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/03/02/10...tv-characters/

I spent a few minutes perusing this list and I gotta say, if'n I were one of the womenfolk I might be inclined to be a bit perturbed. Though varied as women are themselves, some of these characters aren't even the best roles portrayed by this relatively limited collection of actresses.
So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

Pretty drearly list too of TV shows, (with one or two exceptions).

I am not sure I get it. What do they mean by top TV women? I mean I certainly liked a number of the characters - Loni Anderson in WKRP was a great character since in many ways she was the antithesis of the dumb blonde - she was actually the only competent character along with the other woman and Andy the program director. She was a great source of comedic value on that show. Loretta Swit in MASH was more than fine but it's not like they're great actors necessarily.

Some people play a certain role exceptionally well. In other words the casting director finds a "personality" that fits a particular character that is spot on perfect. the actor who plays Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory is simply great casting because if you see in in interviews he's quite similar to his character. So it's not really about creating a character so much as simply being yourself.

I see a lot of good characters on the list and some of them are very good on the stage which was and is their passion - Shelly Long is an example and when she left Cheers the show IMO was never as good again.

I also don't see Carol Burrnett on the list. And my favorite Aunt Ester of Sanford and Son.

    I hate....

Ah say I hate polls like this. Troll fodder if you ask me. The second I saw "Daisy Duke" on the list I immediately skipped to the top 10. Madness, shere madness.

I'm on my phone and can't see the list.

that being said, I'll bet Farrah Fawcet and Susanne Sommers are on that list.
Repost this on your wall if you love Jesus.

Lol, they absolutely are...as well as a bevy of beauties from a fair amount of series that have not yet withstood the test of time. Methinks a definite age bias at play...
