My kids are bugging me to get Shaggy Dog. Is the movie any good.

"This one doesn’t map new territory for the actor or the franchise. The story is typically the weakest link – lots of silliness for kids, but it’s not going get a smile from discriminating adults. Parents will likely get at least a few good chuckles out of it though.

Director Brian Robbins paces the story out pretty well, using the tricks at his disposal to compensate for predictability and laughable pretension. But the script is pretty dull in dialogue and surprise. What child doesn’t like animal humor though? And for kids it’s all about the animals."
