Hey Smoke, this is off topic, but I thought you would like to know that Seven Samurai, the original, has been transferred to Bluray. It comes in a really nice box and has been upgraded to 1080p. I saw a physical copy at HMV over the holidays and will be buying it soon.

    Check it out!!

    Thanks for info chubb

If any movie deserve HD restoration, Seven Samurai is definintly does qualify as movie is very visual with spare dialog. I was reading that original film negatives were lost, and restoration was done using positive images.

Wow, I can't believe that Alice in Wonderland flick did so well. And only 9 movies could top The Karate Kid. Was 2010 the worst year ever for movies?

    Yes.

Last night I watched "The Expendables" and "The American"...yet two more clunkers from 2010...
So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

The Expandable is probably kind of movie that will make more money in overseas market than domestic as it didn't even crack the list of top 20 domestic money makers. But like yours, the reviews have been pretty bad.

    Whoa...

Four of the top ten were animated????!!!!!! Whoda thunk it? Show's the dearth of drama in this years offerings. I feel this year was AWFUL for film and I think it shows, really. And this is AFTER the Academy expanded the nomination numbers.

    Sigh.

You guys are on the wrong continent...

2010 was a fine year in kung fu/asian action. Hoping for Hollywoood to have a good year could lead to a long and unhappy life. Bluray transfers are coming fast for older titles too, something I have been really watching closely.
