    Back to School (1986): Rodney Dangerfield's funniest movie as he enroll in college with a dean named Martin which Rodeny kept calling dean Martin. Great supporting cast.

    Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982): The most memorable charactor Mr. hand (Ray Walston) who is history teacher believe that everyone is on dope.

    A Beautiful Mind (2001): One of director Ron Howard's best film as he strike a nice balance between reality and hallucination of math teacher John Nash.

    National Lampoon's Animal House (1978): Although slightly dated, it launched the career of John Belushi, Karen Allen, Tom Hulce, and Kevin Bacon.

    Paper Chase (1971): first-year law student struggles with balancing his coursework and his relationship with the daughter of a stern professor John Houseman who won an oscar.

    Breaking Away (1979): Fresh out of high school, four teenagers compete in Indiana University bike race. One of the best sport movie, and a memorable ending.

    Thanks Hify and Worf for input :)

    I am guessing Hoosier can also be on this list as it is in the same caliber as Breaking Away. Although most of drama happen on basketball court, Gene Hackman give an excellent performance as high school coach, and Dennis Hopper as town drunk and assistant coach.

    "Dazed and Confused" would be close to if not at the top of my list. But because it begins with the school year winding down before summer, I can see why it might not qualify.
