    Quantum of Solace

So... this latest title from the series that thought 50% of Americans didn't know what "Revoked" meant so changed another title to "License to Kill"? And NOW they come up with "Quantum of Solace"?

Sounds more like a charlie kaufman movie than a james bond one but the trailer sure looks awesome! And is this the new trend in the Bond movies to have a linkage between the movies? In the prior Bonds, i don't remember a story arc link between one movie and the next, yet this one seems to pick up right after the end of Casino Royale.

Anyone else excited about this direction Bond is taking? It looks goooooooooooood

    Lol

Good point bout the title but remember Bond titles usually have one word (Goldfinger, Moonraker, Thunderball, Goldeneye). Quantam of Solace is one of the rarer 3 world titles ("Licence To Kill", "Die Another Day" and "Tomorrow Never Dies"). As for the new trend of a continuous "story arc" for Bond, absolutely brilliant. How else to rebuild a fan base and have them ravenous for the next installment. This tactic will tie people even deeper into the Daniel Craig Bond than ever before. Effin' brilliant if you ask me.

They have to do something because Brosnan was a popular James Bond, and if you ask me, they needed to try a different tactic for a series that relies on familiarity for the role. But they better be careful - you can't start tying too many Bond stories together lest you actually age the guy; Bond should be as old as Connery is now otherwise.

Title is bizarre, but no doubt that the name is a critical element of plot.
All I can say is after Casino Royale, I've never been this excited for a Bond movie.

I think the Bond films were as much a product of the zeitgeist than anything. Remember, the British secret service was going through a pretty rough thrashing when the books were written, what with the scandals and all. Fleming, who was in the service, wrote the stories as a sort of "spin control", to reinstate some of the prestige the service lost in the fray.

I like the direction the Bond films are going. The renewed emphasis on Bond's grittiness makes him a lot more interesting than the tuxedo wearing fop that was epitomized by Moore. If I remember the books at all, Fleming's character was more substantial....

    Diamonds are Forever
    Live and Let Die
    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    The Spy Who Loved Me
    From Russia With Love

...I dunno, Worf....I think the 3+ word titles were pretty well in place.....
