There are a bunch of guys over at Progressive Ears who I talked Lost with last season. Does anyone mind if I invite them to play with us? I'm not sure that they will, but a couple of them were real die-hards.

It's a discussion board for Proggers. www.progressiveears.com. If you think this place is disfunctional and cliquey, you should hang out there for a while. But the music recs can be good, if you're into that sort of thing.

so i picked up the bluray of S6 and checked out the packaging on the Best By Silver Special one, it has a bonus DVD wrapped in the packaging, with a bunch of behind the scenes and interviews as an 'exclusive to best buy'
i looked over the bluray and those specials don't look like they're on it, BUT it does have the "New Man in Charge" mini episode/epilogue with Hurley and Ben! Woo hoo!

I might have to save that till the end of the S1 discussion to see how it resonates.

That makes me happy. I don't care about the behind the scene and interview stuff so much. Great if I can get it here, I won't be devastated if I can't. BUT...I'm definately hitting BB tonight or tomorrow to get that New Man In Charge clip. :yesnod:

I can't decide if I should watch S6 right away or wait until we get to it in the re-watch thread...

By the way everyone, what was your favorite season? I liked them all and not a single one sucked..just varying degrees of awesome for me, but if I had to rank I think it'd go:

    1) S5 - For the sheer mind f*ckery - back to the island...Sawyer and Myles work as security were priceless.
    2) S1 - Started it all.
    3) S4 - Still an awesome season, just not my fav. But it had the best episode - "The Constant" where Penny and Des hooked up again after all the time bouncin'. Musta caught somethin' in my eye...snifff...
    4) S6 - strong finish, but until I knew where the alternate time-line was going that sub-plot of S6 kinda bored me, it'll be interesting to see it again after a complete show re-watch. The Jacob/brother stuff was captivating - did we ever find out Smokey's real name?
    5) S2 - excellent plot development - the Hatch and Ben made the season - though some of the backstories of Ana Lucia and Eko are a drag later on and seem less relevant than first watch.
    6) S3 - The Others revealed - This one was awesome and not awesome at the same time - the writer's strike killed some momentum and I think it had the Nikki and Paulo episode...but it totally recovered at the end - "Not Penny's Boat"...even a bad Lost season is awesome...

I haven't seen some in a few years, I wonder if my thoughts will change knowing how it ends?

So I just watched The New Man In Charge and all I can say is Bloody Effin Brilliant!!!! Lots of questions answered in only 12 minutes and, IMO, is the REAL ending to the show. If this had been the final episode shown on TV after the "everyone is dead" episode, I think that there would have been a lot fewer disappointed fans. People who never see this will be missing out on something.

If you have season 6 on DVD/BD watch this mini-episode. Don't wait. It gave me chills and restored my faith.

Season two has always been my favourite. Here are my reasons:

    1. The opening scene with Desmond waking up and going about his day only for us to find out that he's actually in the hatch! Best WTF moment of the entire run IMO.

    2. Micheal Emerson as Henry Gale. I just love, love, love the mind-fuck control he has over Locke. And then the way he exploits Walt to get Michael to do his dirty work.

    3. The story of the Tailies and their run-ins with The Others. Now we know that the indiginous people of the island are evil. What a set-up for the opening scene of Season three when we see them in Othersville living normal lives.

    4. The reunion of Rose and Bernard is still, for me, one of the most touching moments of the whole show.

I know exactly what you mean. I watched it yesterday morning and it was like going home again. It just felt so good to be watching Lost. It's a sickness.

I was thinking that it would be fun to watch both scenes on Oceanic 815 from Season's one and six and doing a comparison. But I wonder if that would be carrying things just a bit too far. LOL!

Can't argue with that...I really need to watch all these again so I can remember all the holy **** moments.

I also watched "The New Man In Charge". You're right, that could have and should have made the last episode...
