After seeing this one, wow, totally agree with the praise charlize theron has been getting. Phenomenal performance and will prolly walk away with the oscar too. I didn't get to see the court tv footage of the trial and their recount of events, but the movie was sufficiently distrubing for me. kinda the way pulp fiction gave me a visceral reaction in the stomach was what monster did for the emotions. meaning a much stronger reaction for me at least.

i didn't think they tried to rationalize her behaviors, explain them away, give a reason really, but try and give an answer to why. why it all happenned. that's what was most disturbing of it all i thought.

definitely worth checking out, great movie to make you think.

Absolutely terrific movie and one of if not the best feamle performance I've ever seen...one of the best performances by anyone ever perhaps.

The film perhaps isn't quite as good as the performance - how could it be, but it's better than the two films I've seen nominated for best picture...Mystic River and Lord of the Rings.
